Mouse Sensitivity Finder
Choose your game and mouse, describe how you play, and get a DPI and in-game sensitivity to start from, with a faster and a slower option.
How to use the Mouse Sensitivity Finder
- Select your game. Choose Other if you know its yaw value.
- Select your mouse. Choose Other and enter the maximum DPI if it is not listed.
- Set your play style, grip, aim motion and pad width.
- Use the Recommended row, then move to Slower or Faster in small steps.
How it is calculated
The finder picks a target distance for a full 360 degree turn. The starting range depends on play style, then it is adjusted for grip (palm turns slower, fingertip faster) and aim motion (arm turns slower, wrist faster). Your pad width caps the result so you can turn without lifting the mouse.
DPI is chosen from 400, 800, 1600 and 3200, limited to what your sensor supports. The in-game sensitivity is then solved from the game's yaw value so the turn distance matches. The mouse list comes from manufacturer specifications. There is no single perfect sensitivity, so treat the result as a baseline.
Mouse specifications come from manufacturer listings and can differ between revisions. Check your exact model. Recommendations are general starting ranges, not guarantees.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a perfect sensitivity for every player?
No. Hand size, grip, desk space and the game all matter. The finder gives a sound starting point that you then adjust in small steps.
Why does the tool limit my DPI?
Each sensor has a maximum supported DPI. The tool never recommends a value above what your mouse can do.
Which DPI is best, 800 or 1600?
Both are widely used. At the same turn distance they move the view identically, so choose the one that feels smoother on your setup.
What if my mouse is not listed?
Choose Other mouse and enter its maximum DPI from the manufacturer page. The recommendation works the same way.
