PC Upgrade Checker
Enter what is inside your PC and get a ranked list of upgrades, with estimated gains for graphics card and same socket CPU options.
How to use the PC Upgrade Checker
- Select your current CPU and graphics card.
- Choose your memory, main drive and power supply wattage.
- Select the resolution and game type you care about.
- Work through the list from High to Low. Check the PSU column before buying a card.
How it is calculated
The checker uses the same capability model as the bottleneck calculator. For each candidate graphics card it recalculates the limiting capability with your current CPU, and reports the gain over today. Candidate CPUs are limited to your current socket, so no new motherboard is needed.
It picks the lowest tier that reaches each gain step, as a proxy for the cheapest effective option, because prices are not included. Memory, storage and PSU checks use simple rules of thumb.
Hardware performance values are approximate relative tiers from public review data, rounded by hand. They are estimates, not RaggisHub measurements.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the checker suggest only same socket CPUs?
A new socket means a new motherboard and often new memory. Same socket options keep the cost and effort lower.
Why are no prices shown?
Prices move quickly. Use the gain and PSU columns to shortlist, then compare current prices.
Should I upgrade the CPU or the GPU first?
Follow the Balance line. If the CPU is the limit, a faster GPU adds little. If the GPU is the limit, a faster GPU is the better buy.
Do I need a new PSU for a new GPU?
Only if your current unit lacks headroom or the right connectors. The PSU column shows the size to plan for.
